Alumni & Friends
The School of Education provides many opportunities for our alumni to remain actively involved long after they have graduated. Our goal is to ensure that all alumni stay connected not only with the School, but also with their fellow Stanford alumni and the broader Stanford community. Below are some of the programs we offer.
School of Education Reunion
Back to School Night
October 21, 2011, 5pm-10pm
Meet up with old friends and make new ones during the first night of SUSE's reunion events on October 21, 2011 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm in the Cubberley Lobby and Auditorium.
The evening will start with poster sessions from select students representing new areas of research, followed by lectures given by some of the School of Education's top faculty and ending with a networking reception with light food and drinks. Guest starring John Willinsky and our very own Mayfield Band!
Alumni Luncheon
October 22, 2011, 11am-2pm
Please join the School of Education's faculty, staff and students on October 22, 2011 from 11:00am until 2:00pm in the CERAS building for a tour of Paulo Bliksteins new lab where he and his students design technological tools for thinking and learning followed by a lunch where you will meet our new Dean, Professor Claude Steele.

Social Activities
Throughout the year, alumni are invited to social events with fellow alumni, students, and faculty, events have included group dinners with students, alumni and faculty, and tailgate parties at the new Stanford Stadium. Stay tuned for future events.
Conferences
The School of Education will host an evening reception at the 2012 Annual AERA Meeting that will take place Friday, April 8 through Tuesday, April 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Over 200 alumni, faculty, staff, and students will attend the event.

Alumni-Employer Speaker Panels
During the academic year, many of our alumni return to campus to speak with current students about their professional and personal choices as they continue on their career path. Our students and alumni agree that these exchanges are mutually beneficial and enjoyable. If you would like to participate on a future panel, contact the Director of Alumni Relations.
Career Resources
Visit the School of Education's new online career management system, SUSEdCareers, at SUSE Career Resources.
SUSEdCareers provides School of Education students and alumni free, comprehensive resources, including:
- Accessing employer profiles and job openings;
- Finding and managing internship experiences;
- Signing up for interviews with on campus recruiters;
- Submitting resumes for prospective employer review;
- Scheduling career counseling sessions;
- Staying informed of career services events and programs;
- Networking with alumni, employers and students; and
- Creating personal career management calendars.

SUSEdCareers Career Fair
The School of Education's first career fair was held on March 30, 2009, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the CERAS lobby. The career fair provided master and doctoral students and alumni an opportunity to:
- Informally network with 37 public- and private-sector employers and 68 employer contacts regarding academic and education-related careers; and
- Attend any of the 30 employer information sessions.

Stanford Educator Alumni Newsletter
If the School of Education has your current mailing address, you will receive our biannual alumni publication, the Stanford Educator, which provides you with information about SUSE-specific news, announcements, and events. Alumni and faculty updates, school news, and SUSE-related articles are featured throughout the newsletter.

Additional Alumni Services
Library Privileges
Alums are entitled to seven free days of access per year to Cubberley, Green/Meyer, and Jackson libraries. Additional access days are available for a small fee.The Career Development Center
Alumni career counseling and job listings are also provided through this Center. They also maintain alumni letters of reference for prospective employers and sponsor Career Fairs and links to career opportunities.Stanford Alumni Association
The Alumni Association provides a large network that literally spans the globe. Stanford news, alumni email, alumni directory, volunteer opportunities, and travel opportunities are available via this site.
In addition they provide:
- Free alumni email and forwarding services.
- Alumni Directory - locate fellow registered alums.
- Stanford Volunteer Clearinghouse - find volunteer opportunities that match your interests and expertise.
Don't forget to access the Stanford Career Network at the Stanford Alumni Association to see if any alumni work at an organization of which you have a particular interest. Our alumni network is one of our greatest assets!
