Brown Bag Talk with Professor Megan Franke

Over the past five years colleagues at the University of Washington, University of Michigan and UCLA have been working together to reconsider and redesign preservice teacher’s opportunities to learn to teach mathematics ambitiously. We have designed a set of instructional activities and a cycle of enactment and investigation. This presentation will focus on our recent analyses of one aspect of the cycle: rehearsal. We used Studiocode to analyze 90 rehearsals across the three sites to describe what happens in rehearsal and detail how we conceptualize and design for teacher learning.
