Home > New Students Guide > STEP-Elementary Advisory Notes for
Junior Coterminal Admits
Current Stanford juniors need to be aware of the following Stanford University regulations regarding coterminal applications and program status:
Prerequisites
- Register for ED103A, B, and C (offered in Aut, Wtr, and
Spring respectively) if you have not already done so.
This series may be taken out of order.
Advising
Ira Lit (iralit@stanford.edu)
is available for individual advising anytime during the quarter
by appointment.
Testing
CSET You must pass a minimum of one half
of the subtests of the CSET- Multiple Subject prior to beginning
the MA program in June 2010. We highly recommend that you
take and pass all subtests as early as possible.
-
Please have NES report scores to Stanford.
-
Scores need to reach STEP prior to the start of the program, so do not wait until the last testing date.
-
The program director can provide information on testing materials/resources that students have found helpful.
CBEST Please report passing scores to Stanford
University before you begin STEP in June 2010.
Undergraduate Degree
-
Apply to confer your BA/BS degree in the spring quarter of your senior year; all undergraduate requirements must be completed.
-
Do not apply to graduate in the Winter Quarter of your senior year. At least one quarter of "overlapping" coursework (BA/BS and MA) is required before applying for conferral of your undergraduate degree and/or requesting a leave of absence from your coterminal graduate program.
Financial Aid
Though you may submit a Fellowship Application in your junior year, allocation of funds will not be made until the award season of your senior year.
