This is the GSE’s Centennial year, and Reunion Homecoming could not have been more festive. On Friday, October 13th, more than 180 GSE alumni, faculty and students celebrated the 2017 Alumni Excellence in Education Award recipients.
Dean Dan Schwartz welcomed the crowd and noted this award program is the brainchild of a small group of GSE alumni who wondered how they might shine a brighter light on the many ways Stanford GSE alumni are advancing education. Thanks to this dedicated group bringing their time and talents to our Alumni Awards and Recognition Committee, the GSE is able to celebrate the far-reaching impact of our alumni with these awards. Dean Schwartz asked the Committee to stand and be recognized. The dean then specially thanked Angela and David Filo and the Yellow Chair Foundation for championing these awards and elevating educators.
The GSE proudly presented the 2017 recipients:

The Graduate School of Education hosted the Alumni Reunion Tailgate on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Taube Tennis Center Patio. More than 120 GSE alumni, students, faculty, and their guests gathered for a fun and festive tailgate prior to the Stanford Football Homecoming Game (Stanford v. Oregon). Alumni who registered early received a GSE Centennial baseball cap and reconnected with each other, students, and faculty. Dean Schwartz joined the party for BBQ and fun, enjoying conversations with our current students and alumni.
