Cultivating Humanity: A talk with Rabbi Darren Kleinberg

Tuesday, January 28, 2020
5:00pm
Building 360, Room 361J (conference room)

Reflections on one attempt to create community at an independent Jewish high school in Silicon Valley

A Jewish high school for everyone? A private school with meaningful socio-economic diversity? A college prep school that serves a wide diversity of learners? A high school in Silicon Valley that is serious about teenage stress and mental health?

Could a small independent Jewish high school in Palo Alto be a model for independent, charter, and public schools throughout the Bay Area and beyond?

Join us for a presentation and discussion about these questions with Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, a visiting scholar with the Concentration in Education and Jewish Studies at Stanford Graduate School of Education.

Rabbi Kleinberg is the author of Hybrid Judaism: Irving Greenberg, Encounter, and the Changing Nature of American Jewish Identity. He is serving in his seventh and final year as head of school at Kehillah Jewish High School.

This event is free. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
