Please join us for a conversation on the promise of education technology with Dr. Marito Garcia.
Dr. Garcia serves as Adjunct Faculty and Fellow at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He is a board member of Learning Equality, a non-profit group dedicated to making high quality education technology available in an open-source platform in low-resource communities such as rural schools, refugee camps, orphanages, non-formal school systems and prison systems. The platform is currently used by 6-million learners in over 160 countries.
Dr. Garcia was a senior staff member of the World Bank for 18 years, where he managed investments and research programs on early childhood development, labor markets, conditional cash transfers, orphans and vulnerable children and education technology. His most recent work includes advising the Asian Development Bank and World Bank on education technology. His work spans 55 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Dr. Garcia will share his thoughts on education technology and online learning, with an emphasis on the opportunities and challenges in Asia and Africa.
