GitHub for Research Workshop

GitHub for Research Workshop

Tuesday, January 25, 2022
3:30pm - 5:00pm
Zoom

Manipulating and sharing data is increasingly important among researchers and teams. Efficient tools and workflows are essential – and, increasingly, GitHub is a central technology for productivity and tracking progress. As a code hosting platform for collaboration, GitHub is relied on by teams around Stanford to track projects and manage complexity.

Join GSE IT for a hands-on workshop, “GitHub for Research”, as we dive into these themes. Participants will learn the basics, gain insights, and practice new skills alongside Saurabh Khanna, GSE PhD Candidate and GitHub enthusiast. In this workshop, Saurabh will focus on framing the learning journey on GitHub, sustaining learning over time, and sharing and coding for open-source communities.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • leverage workflows for productivity
  • create and manage local repositories
  • dynamically publish changes to research projects

Date: Tuesday, January 25th

Time: 3:30-5:00 PM

Location: Online (Zoom link upon completing RSVP form)
