The Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE) welcomes nominations for the 2017 GSE Alumni Excellence in Education Award. Strong candidates across a wide range of education sectors (schools, districts, non-profits, tech, academia, or research) will have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas:

• Advancement of knowledge through research, teaching, publications, or technology as it relates to the interdisciplinary field of education
• Commitment to dynamic, high-quality educational practice at the classroom, school site, or district level as a teacher, principal, or district leader
• Dedication to under-served and low-resourced student populations
• Innovation in addressing a timely issue or challenge in education
• Leadership in educational policy at the local, state, federal, or international level

The deadline for 2017 award nominations is April 17, 2017.

Nominations for all GSE alumni, from recent grads to those with more established careers, are welcome. Self-nominations cannot be accepted.

Meet our 2015 and 2016 award recipients.  

We strongly encourage award recipients to attend the award reception in person. A travel stipend is available to award recipients who need to travel to Stanford from beyond the San Francisco Bay Area. The 2017 Award Reception will take place during Reunion Weekend on Friday, October 13 in the CERAS 101 Learning Hall, Stanford University.

This award program is led by a group of dedicated Stanford GSE alumni who are partnering with the school to strengthen and engage the GSE alumni community by recognizing the outstanding contributions of GSE trained teachers, principals, scholars, innovators, and education leaders.
