GSE IT Lunch-N-Learn #3: Universal Design for Learning

GSE IT Lunch-N-Learn #3: Universal Design for Learning

Thursday, May 21, 2020
12:00pm
Zoom

Engaging learners in an online environment is a tremendous challenge. Different students construct knowledge in different ways, and needs can shift day-to-day. But there are tools for broader and more inclusive instruction for all types of learners. One such tool is Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

To better understand UDL and how it can be applied to your classroom, please join GSE IT next Thursday, May 21 at 12 PM as we welcome on-campus experts from the Schwab Learning Center for a presentation and dialogue around iterated and accessible learning. The event will be facilitated by Karin Forssell, MA Director of the Learning, Design, and Technology program at the GSE.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Define UDL and its components
Express advantages and disadvantages of UDL
Identify what UDL looks like in practice
Ideate applications of UDL for their own instruction
