Book Talk. Preparing English Learners for College & Career: Lessons from Successful High Schools

Preparing English Learners for College and Career

Preparing English Learners for College and Career

Language, Equity and Educational Policy (LEEP) & Race, Religion & Ethnicity Group (RREG) invite you to attend a book talk and discussion in celebration of Preparing English Learners for College and Career (Teachers College Press, 2018) with co-author Tina Cheuk (PhD candidate in science education).

How do school communities create environments that fully prepare both designated English learners (ELs) and dual-language learners for colleges and careers? This book profiles six high-performing high schools that had a singular focus on improving the educational outcomes of ELs. The authors use these case studies to identify a comprehensive set of design elements and shared values that were key factors in yielding extraordinary results.
