Looking like a Language, Sounding like a Race examines the emergence of linguistic and ethnoracial categories in contemporary U.S. constructions of Latinidad. Based on research in a Chicago high school and its surrounding communities, the book analyzes the creation and reimagination of political, ethnoracial, and linguistic borders.
