School Choice and Diversity in San Francisco Schools

School Choice and Diversity in San Francisco Schools

Friday, April 9, 2021
11:00am
This is a virtual event.

This presentation will explore the findings from a study of school choice and diversity related to San Francisco Unified School District’s student assignment policy.  Stanford professors, Irene Lo and Itai Ashlagi, worked with SFUSD leaders, Orla O’Keeffe, Norma Ming, and Henry O'Connell, for over a year to develop the research. In September 2020, the Stanford professors and SFUSD leaders presented the findings from the research to the SFUSD school board. The findings were considered as SFUSD passed a new student assignment policy which will be fully implemented in the 2022-2023 school year.
