Raksha is a computer-based environmental education tool for youth in agricultural communities of rural India. It is based on the premise that environmental education can be a powerful tool that empowers youth and their families, but only if it is relevant to their current situations. By beginning with the questions that are relevant to members of agricultural communities, it aims to scaffold a thorough understanding of the science behind the environmental problems that have lead to the current agricultural crisis. The program consists of animations and games designed to aid the learner in transferring scientific concepts into real-world situations.
