The School of Education provides many opportunities for our alumni to remain actively involved long after they have graduated. Our goal is to ensure that all alumni stay connected not only with the School, but also with their fellow Stanford alumni and the broader Stanford community. Below are some of the programs we offer.
School of Education Reunion
The School of Education’s Reunion 2009 will take place on campus on Friday, October 23, during Stanford’s Reunion/Homecoming Weekend. While we are offering programs planned especially for School of Education alumni, the campus will offer an exciting array of activities sure to appeal to everybody. Events include the ever-popular "Classes without Quizzes" talks led by School of Education and other Stanford faculty, the Multicultural Hall of Fame, and Stanford's homecoming football game. The Presidential Welcome and Panel Discussion on Life-Changing Technologies will spotlight groundbreaking work from Stanford faculty, including our very own Roy Pea.
Events planned exclusively for School of Education alumni on Friday include a tour of East Palo Alto Academy, the K-12 charter school run by Stanford New Schools, and a 'Welcome Back Lunch' with School of Education faculty, staff and students.

Social Activities
Throughout the year, alumni are invited to social events with fellow alumni, students, and faculty, events have included group dinners with students, alumni and faculty, and tailgate parties at the new Stanford Stadium. Stay tuned for future events.
Conferences
Alumni are actively engaged in cutting-edge research and conferences addressing pressing issues in the field of education. Most recently, over 200 alumni attended a symposium in honor of retiring Professor Mike Kirst, and participated in lively discussions and debates on a range of topics related to education policy.
The School of Education also hosted an evening reception on April 14 at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) 2009 Annual Meeting in San Diego. Over 200 alumni, faculty, staff, and students mingled over drinks and appetizers, and grooved to the sounds of "B&" (pronounced "band"), featuring Professor John Willinsky and Stanford School of Education students.
