Dear GSE Alumni,

I am honored to be the guest author for this edition of the Connector, in part, because its publication date coincides with my favorite GSE event of the year – the Alumni Excellence in Education Awards. The event commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the ceremony and features the leadership and high caliber of our GSE graduates. I'm endlessly impressed by the impact GSE alumni make in their careers and communities. Year after year, they contribute meaningfully to the far reaches of the education landscape. We’re proud to host this event to honor our alumni and welcome you home during Reunion weekend. It really is the best celebration ever.

On the topic of welcomes, I am pleased to introduce your new Alumni Relations Director, Marly Sollebello. Marly joins the Stanford Community after serving as Director of Student Events & Alumni Engagement at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine where she built strong student-alumni networks and led the college’s social media and communications. We began the official GSE Alumni office a decade ago, and I am excited to invigorate its efforts with Marly’s expertise at bringing people together. Marly looks forward to meeting you, celebrating your successes, and strengthening your connection to the GSE community.

This is an incredibly exciting era for the GSE. This edition of the Connector highlights many interdisciplinary activities being led by our community. As we begin the countdown to opening our new campus next year, I want to thank you for your part in shaping the GSE’s history and strengthening its future. Above all, thank you for your partnership in the GSE mission of Improving lives through learning.

Warm wishes,

Dan
