November 2024

Dear GSE Alumni,

I am delighted to be your new Director of Alumni Relations for the Graduate School of Education. Originally from Maine, I moved cross-country this summer with my fiancé, our five cats, and two dogs. Before joining Stanford, I was the Director of Student Events and Alumni Engagement for the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, connecting students and alumni through innovative programs and initiatives.

Serendipitously, I arrived at the GSE just in time for my first Reunion Weekend. At the esteemed Alumni Excellence in Education Awards (AEEA), I witnessed the extraordinary scope and talent of our GSE alumni. I highly recommend watching the event recording or reading about our award recipients. Their stories, our stories, truly reflect GSE Alumni's impact on our communities.

I look forward to connecting with you to hear your stories about the GSE, your current career pathways, alumni experiences, and how the GSE can continue supporting you and your work. This coming year, you will have opportunities to engage with us locally, regionally, and internationally, either in person or virtually. Keep an eye out for invitations to attend and participate in these offerings, and in the meantime, I encourage you to reach out to say hello.

Best,
Marly

A Healthier Approach to College Admissions

Join Challenge Success in this research-based workshop that will address many of the important questions we hear from families. What do college rankings really measure? Are students who attend more selective colleges better off later in life? What is “fit” and why does it matter? Participants will learn practical strategies to help reduce unnecessary pressure around the college admissions process and ways to support their student’s overall well-being and readiness for life in college and beyond. Find out more →
