Approaches for Mixed Methods Data Analysis

Approaches for Mixed Methods Data Analysis

Tuesday, February 6, 2024
12:00pm
Location shared upon completing the RSVP form

Mixed methods research combines elements of quantitative and qualitative analysis to address your research questions, posing a challenge for those proficient in only one methodology. By developing skills to plan our designs and organize our research questions, we can enhance the efficiency of our data analysis. But how can we better determine which mixed methods analysis to apply in your project? Join GSE IT as we explore key strategies and insights into starting mixed methods research, facilitated by GSE doctoral students Victoria Delaney and Radhika Kapoor.

In this workshop, participants will learn about methodologies to deconstruct data and improve documentation of your process. We will spend the first hour exploring an example case, then engage in practical group exercises to map out solutions. We will end the workshop with an optional 30-minute Q&A and discussion, where participants can bring their own research to collectively address questions and uncertainties.

The workshop will be framed by these central questions:

  • How can I apply a logical framework to deconstruct my data?
  • How can I identify which method to use on my data?
  • What will my documentation look like when I switch between qualitative and quantitative methods?
