In this talk, Professor Heather C. Hill will discuss findings from a three-year observational study of 4th and 5th grade mathematics instruction in five urban districts. Topics include the mode and range in instructional quality in those districts; the relationship between instruction and teacher value-added scores; and which measurable factors best predict those value-added scores.
