Going from Note to Knowledge

Going from Note to Knowledge

Thursday, April 27, 2023
12:00pm
Zoom

Managing the vast amount of information and knowledge that we encounter daily can be overwhelming. Are you struggling to keep track of all the notes, documents, and research materials you are acquiring? Join GSE IT for a workshop on Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) and explore digital tools that are used by Stanford staff and students.

In this workshop, we will explore the concept of PKM and discuss the benefits of implementing a system for work and research. We will also hear from a panel who will share the digital tools they use (such as Evernote, Notion, and Obsidian) and practical tips on how to build a PKM system. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from their experiences and participate in discussion about their process.

The workshop will be tied to these central questions:

  • What is Personal Knowledge Management (PKM)?
  • Which PKM tools and techniques can optimize my information organization needs?
  • How can digital tools reduce friction and increase efficiency for knowledge management?
