David Pearson will discuss the research that he and his colleagues in the Graduate School of Education (UC, Berkeley) and the Lawrence Hall of Science are doing to promote synergies between Science and Literacy in the Seeds of Science-Roots of Reading Curriculum. He'll focus on the principles underlying the curriculum and the research evaluating its affordances and efficacy.

Professor P. David Pearson, faculty member in the programs in Language and Literacy and Human Development at the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he served as dean from 2001-2010, will give a lunch time talk in the areas of language, literacy and science education on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.

This event is co-sponsored by Language, Equity, and Educational Policy (LEEP) and the Science Education Work Group.
