Dr. Karen R. Harris will present on her program of research, Self-Regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) for writing, which has been in development and continued refinement since the early 1980s and has been deemed an evidence-based practice, or a practice supported by high quality research, by four independent groups. Over 100 studies have been reported and SRSD research is taking place in over a dozen countries. Lessons learned and issues still to be addressed, including scaling up and professional development for teachers, are addressed.
