Pondering Excellence in Teaching: Jeremiah Sims
Jeremiah Sims is a PhD Candidate in Language, Literacy, and Culture at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education where he also earned a B.A. in Rhetoric with Honors and an M.A. in Education. During his doctoral studies, he received the Chancellor’s Fellowship. He has been a lecturer for a number of courses in the Education and Rhetoric Departments including co-instruction of the graduate course, Urban Education. Additionally, he is the Interim Director of Student Equity for the four campuses of the Peralta Community College District where he works to create a holistic transfer, dual enrollment, and matriculation programs, district-wide, for hypermarginalized students through the Office of Student Success and Equity. He is also Founding Director for the MAN UP Program, which is the focus of this talk.
