Lecture and Q/A with Edward Deci.
Edward L. Deci is Helen F. and Fred H. Gowen Professor in the Social Sciences at the University of Rochester. He holds a Ph.D. in psychology from Carnegie- Mellon University and was an interdisciplinary post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University. For more than 40 years Deci has done research, much of it in collaboration with Richard M. Ryan, on self-determination theory. Deci's published books include: Intrinsic Motivation ( 1975); Intrinsic Motivation and Self-Determination in Human Behavior(with R. M. Ryan, 1985); and Why We Do What We Do (1995).
