RILE Speaker Series: "What's your Story?"

Please join us this Winter quarter for our annual Winter Quarter Speaker series. We'll be hosting cutting-edge research talks by leading scholars, offering valuable insights into the latest developments in our field.

In addition, we're launching the "What's Your Story" series, a series aimed at fostering connections between students and faculty. This will be an opportunity for you to discover the personal and academic journeys of your professors and colleagues, providing a unique perspective on what brought them to this work.  Our guest speaker will be Dr Marcela G. Cuellar of University of California, Davis.

Dr. Marcela G. Cuellar is an associate professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. Her research examines Latinx/a/o student experiences and outcomes at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging HSIs, campus climate, and community college baccalaureates. She is currently a PI on a research project examining the unique role of R1 HSIs, especially within the University of California. Her scholarship has been published in the American Journal of Education, Community College Review, Journal of Higher Education, and Review of Higher Education.

She holds a BA in Psychology and Spanish from Stanford University, a MA in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego, and a PhD in Education (Higher Education and Organizational Change) from the University of California, Los Angeles. Originally from Oxnard, California, she is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants.
