SanARTE; An Art, Education, And Community Based Pedagogy and Research Working Group Intro Meeting
SanARTE is a working group bridging artists, educators, researchers, and community cultural workers to explore art as method and pedagogy. The working group will collaborate with other arts departments, performance studies, improv, music, visual arts, and community spaces to facilitate dialogue between artists and researchers who use art based methods. The group meets once a month from 1hr to have discussions, readings, community work, and performances. Inspired by the work of Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, Silvia Rodriquez, and Rosalilia M. Mendoza, we will collectively build a curriculum/syllabus around arts based research and pedagogies, support people with their individual projects, and provide feedback. Not an artist, not true, come join us for lunch and discussion Tuesday, February 4th from 12:30pm-1:30pm in CERAS 300. RSVP for lunch before Friday January 31st. SanArte is sponsored by the GSE Students’ Collaborative Learning Fund.
