THE SCIENCE OF LEARNING: BIG DATA, TECHNOLOGY, AND INCREASING QUALITY AND EQUITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Candace Thille will present a talk titled, "The Science of Learning: Big Data, Technology, and  Increasing Quality and Equity in Higher Education."

Thille is the director of the Open Learning Initiative, a research fellow in the Office of the Vice Provost for Online Learning, and an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Education at Stanford University. She is also the founding director of the Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University. Her focus is on applying the results from research in the science of learning to the design and evaluation of open Web-based learning environments. 

She has a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkley, a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
