At the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching we focus on supporting
teachers and leaders in an effort to improve K12 education for all
students. We have enjoyed designing this year’s Stanford Summer Teaching
Institute for you. For summer 2011, we have decided to consolidate our
offerings and hold our multi-day institutes during the last two weeks of
June. There will be multiple opportunities for participants to
socialize with teachers and leaders across courses.

We will offer 4 short courses (4 or 5 days) focused on a variety of
content areas including teaching tools to use with all content and grade
levels, as well as ways to manage student learning and teacher
professional development. These courses are open to all interested
teachers and registration is available on our website. In addition we
are offering a number of institutes where participation is based upon
accepted applications. All of our courses offer opportunities to
practice new methods, and time to designlearning materials for
individual classrooms, as well as time to connect (and reconnect) with
colleagues. We hope you enjoy considering what we have to offer as much
as we enjoy offering it to you, and we look forward to learning with you
in June.

With warm regards,

Pam Grossman & Susan O'Hara
