For all students, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, becoming an independent reader is predictive of positive post-secondary outcomes including independence, employment, and life satisfaction. We invite educators to join Stanford Graduate School of Education Associate Professor Christopher J. Lemons and Lecturer Lakshmi Balasubramanian in a two-part live online series on literacy strategies for learners with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Session 1 | Wednesday, October 30, 2024 | 3:30 - 4:30 PM Pacific

This session will cover findings from recent research, highlight practical strategies that educators can implement immediately, and share resources to support implementation and further professional learning.

Session 2 | Wednesday, November 13, 2024 | 3:30 - 4:30 PM Pacific

This session will give participants an opportunity to discuss implementing evidence-based strategies in the classroom with peers and a Bay Area educator who has worked closely with the research team.
