As the spread of the novel coronavirus has changed how educators around the world are supporting student learning, how can we center what’s important and not just what’s urgent? How can we design lessons for remote and online learning environments in which students engage in content, connect and collaborate, and learn new skills in an equitable way?

Join professor and CSET faculty director Janet Carlson alongside professional development associate Christine Bywater for a virtual “office hours” session over Zoom. Janet and Christine will offer an overview of principles to guide you in choosing effective instructional practices and meaningful curriculum resources. A Q&A session will follow to discuss ways we can plan for the reality of today and design a more equitable future for our students.

This virtual Q&A will be split into two sessions. Join us for one or both sessions of your choosing:

  • 5:00 - 5:30pm: geared towards primary (elementary) school teachers
  • 5:30 - 6:00pm: geared towards secondary (middle and high) school teachers

Audience: Stanford alumni who are teachers or instructors for primary and secondary students; alumni interested in supporting teachers and instructors during this challenging time; teachers who have participated in programs with the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET).
