As we embark on the reopening of schools, feeling connected to each other and to our school community will be of prime importance. In this interactive session we explore strategies for how we can foster a sense of belonging with classrooms and schools. Starting with quotes from students, we will share and utilize design methodologies with a specific focus on learning from historically underinvested community members. You will leave with ideas and strategies that you can use to design a classroom and school community that encourages belonging across and between lines of race, gender, socioeconomic status, ability and gender identity.
