Alumni Excellence in Education Award Nomination Form
Continue on this form to nominate an education scholar, higher education faculty member, policy leader, edtech innovator, school administrator or other education professional. Alternatively, nominate a PreK-12 educator, counselor, or resource teacher working with young people in a school setting, here.
The GSE welcomes nominations for the Alumni Excellence in Education Award. Strong candidates from across a range of education sectors (districts, nonprofits, tech, academia, or research) will have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following award criterion:
- Advancement of knowledge through research, teaching, publications, or technology as it relates to the interdisciplinary field of education
- Commitment to supporting and developing dynamic, high-quality educational practice at a school site or district level as a school administrator
- Dedication to underserved and low-resourced student populations
- Innovation in addressing a timely issue or challenge in education
- Leadership in educational policy at the local, state, federal, or international level
Nominations for all GSE alumni, from recent grads to those with more established careers, are welcome. The person submitting the nomination does not need to have any Stanford affiliation. Self-nominations cannot be accepted.
Each nominee can be reviewed three times.
Recipients are selected by a committee that includes GSE alumni, faculty, and the dean. The GSE Alumni Excellence in Education Award cohort is announced in August of each year.
We strongly encourage recipients to attend the award reception (typically in October) in person (travel stipend available to recipients who travel to Stanford from beyond the SF Bay Area).
DEADLINE: Nominations for the 2025 award are due March 31. The 2025 Alumni Excellence in Education Award honorees will be announced in August followed by a celebration during Stanford Reunion Homecoming on October 17, 2025.
