Alumni Excellence in Education Award Nomination Form

Continue on this form to nominate an education scholar, higher education faculty member, policy leader, edtech innovator, school administrator or other education professional. Alternativelynominate a PreK-12 educator, counselor, or resource teacher working with young people in a school setting, here.

The GSE welcomes nominations for the Alumni Excellence in Education Award. Strong candidates from across a range of education sectors (districts, nonprofits, tech, academia, or research) will have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following award criterion:

  • Advancement of knowledge through research, teaching, publications, or technology as it relates to the interdisciplinary field of education
  • Commitment to supporting and developing dynamic, high-quality educational practice at a school site or district level as a school administrator
  • Dedication to underserved and low-resourced student populations
  • Innovation in addressing a timely issue or challenge in education
  • Leadership in educational policy at the local, state, federal, or international level

DEADLINE: Nominations for the 2024 award are now closed. If you wish to submit a nomination, we would be delighted to consider it for next year's award. Please reach out to I-Han Liang at ihango@stanford.edu with any questions. The 2024 Alumni Excellence in Education Award honorees will be announced in August followed by a celebration at reunion in October.

How to nominate

Please complete the form below to nominate an education scholar, higher education faculty member, policy leader, edtech innovator, entrepreneur, school administrator or other education professional. Only nominations received by the due date will be considered. Alternatively, nominate a PreK-12 educator, counselor, or resource teacher working with young people in a school setting here

The strongest nominations include details and examples that shed light on the nominee's strengths, achievements, and activities beyond what is stated in the nominee's resume/CV/LinkedIn profile. Note that at least one letter of support (1-2 pages long) written by someone other than the nominator and a resume, CV, or LinkedIn profile are required. A second letter of support (written by someone other than the nominator) is optional but recommended. Please be sure that the letter writer's full name and email address are listed at the top of all letters of support.

* "Early career" is defined as an individual who is ten or less years past their terminal degree at the GSE. ** "Lifetime Achievement" is defined as an individual who is 40 or more years past their terminal degree at the GSE.
