Alumni Excellence in Education Award Nomination Form - Educator

Continue on this form to nominate a PreK-12 educator, counselor, or resource teacher working with young people in a school setting. Alternatively, nominate an education scholar, higher education faculty member, policy leader, edtech innovator, school administrator, or other education professional here.

The GSE welcomes nominations of PreK-12 educators for the Alumni Excellence in Education Award. Strong candidates will have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following award criterion:

  • Commitment to dynamic, high-quality educational practice in a PreK-12 classroom
  • Dedication to underserved and low-resourced student populations
  • Devotion to helping students find their voices as learners and realize their fullest human potential
  • Innovation in addressing a timely issue or challenge in education
  • Leadership as a standard-setter in student-centered educational practice

Nominations for all GSE alumni, from recent grads to those with more established careers, are welcome. The person submitting the nomination does not need to have any Stanford affiliation. Self-nominations cannot be accepted.

Each nominee can be reviewed three times.

Recipients are selected by a committee that includes GSE alumni, faculty, and the dean. The GSE Alumni Excellence in Education Award cohort is announced in August of each year.

We strongly encourage recipients to attend the award reception (typically in October) in person (travel stipend available to recipients who travel to Stanford from beyond the SF Bay Area).

DEADLINE: Nominations for the 2025 award are due March 31. The 2025 Alumni Excellence in Education Award honorees will be announced in August followed by a celebration during Stanford Reunion Homecoming on October 17, 2025.
