In today's dynamic classrooms, one thing is abundantly clear: every student is unique, with diverse learning needs and paces. As dedicated educators, we recognize the importance of nurturing individuality, but how can we do so effectively without increasing workload? Join the Digital Learning Solutions (DLS) team as we uncover the pedagogical power of differentiated instruction and explore how to implement practical strategies in your own Canvas course.
During this session, we will share valuable insights into organizing student groups, assignments, and content structure to optimize the resources we already have. Through engaging activities, participants will develop a deep understanding of what differentiated instruction entails, explore supportive features and tools within Canvas, and leave with at least one evidence-based teaching strategy to apply to the classroom.
The session will be based on three central questions:
- How can I pace my instruction to keep students engaged?
- How can I use Canvas to reach more students?
- Which Canvas features support differentiated instruction?
