My year at SUSE provided me with the fundamentals of education beyond just the world of teaching. My coursework in the IEAPA program included research design, the economics of education, and curriculum development, among other classes, all of which combined gave me a clear picture of the state of affairs in education around the world and helped me define what I could do to make a difference. As I build Enzi, a social enterprise that helps fund education and training for financially challenged students around the world, I draw on what I learned at SUSE about access to education and the economics of development. Besides academics, I also valued the learning companionship of other students in my ICE/IEAPA cohort, all of whom were talented educators passionate about making a difference in the world through their work.
