"Race to Nowhere" Screening
Race to Nowhere is a provocative new documentary challenging prevailing views of how to foster high school student success. It is a fascinating exposé of student stress, cheating, lack of motivation, and inefficient student outcomes. We envision ourselves at EAST as Stanford's hub for education-related programming and debate- and we could not pass up the chance to show the movie accompanied with a spirited discussion as our kickoff event!
After the movie screening, join us back at EAST House for delicious CoHo catering and a thought provoking town hall meeting/panel discussion moderated by Stanford School of Education Professors Christine Min Wotipka and Anthony Lising Antonio.
Panelists include:
Vicki Abeles, Director of Race to Nowhere
Sheila Altmann, Psychologist at Monta Vista High School
Bob Patterson, Stanford Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Daniel Wong, Stanford Class of 2013
