Office and Workstation

Furniture

Furniture purchases often come with extended lead times, sometimes of three months or longer, especially when they are matters of designing or customization. Below, you will find several products that offer many of the benefits sought after today and have quicker turnarounds so your space can be fully functional in a matter of weeks rather than months. A consultation with a facilities team member is recommended prior to office redesign.

Work Orders

Desired changes to your office space should be submitted to the facilities team.
Changes may include:

  • hanging a picture
  • hanging or removing whiteboard

  • moving boxes
  • other facilities concerns

Changes need to follow GSE facilities procedure and protocol – please give enough advanced notice for any work orders.

The GSE strives to provide all doctorate students with a dedicated space for their research and studies. Students are placed as close to their advisors and cohort as is possible, with deference given to students closer to completion of their program. We encourage rolling feedback throughout the year and will accommodate when possible. Space assessment will begin end of Spring quarter each year, and re-assessments will occur over the course of the year to accommodate existing and incoming students.

Move outs/Move ins

Please be respectful of office spaces, facilities, and hallways during move outs/move ins. Do not leave furniture or unwanted materials in hallways. Please contact the facilities team with space concerns.

The GSE provides basic office furniture (including desk chair, desk, and some storage, e.g. file cabinet). For office furniture upgrade requests, a consultation is required prior to office redesign. The facilities team works to provide sustainable and ergonomic furniture choices for GSE staff. Furniture and office space concerns should be submitted with enough lead time to the facilities team.
