Your gift each year makes a difference each day at the GSE, supporting students, faculty, and programs.
Annual unrestricted gifts through the Education Fund support merit- and need-based financial aid, innovative approaches to teaching, and strong research-practice partnerships. These funds increase access to all graduate programs—master’s, STEP, and PhD—for the next generation of education leaders.
The STEP Fellowship Fund provides direct financial support to students in the GSE’s teacher preparation program, making STEP—and becoming a teacher—accessible to outstanding candidates with financial need.
The General Fellowship Fund provides critical funding for students in our highly competitive doctoral programs to help bridge the gap between tuition, research and teaching assistantships, and the cost of living in the Bay Area.
Your gift, combined with gifts from other alumni and friends, powers our mission to advance equitable education for all.

The power of collective giving
The GSE recognizes the generosity and loyalty of our supporters in the following ways:
The Dean’s Circle honors alumni and friends who support the GSE year after year, and includes those who have made a gift of any amount to any fund at the GSE for at least 10 of the last 15 years.
Launched in 2017 to celebrate the GSE’s centennial, the 1917 Circle includes those who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to any unrestricted fund at the GSE such as the Education Fund or the STEP Fellowship Fund, as well as graduates of the last decade who make a yearly contribution of $500 or more.
