WC Overfelt is a large comprehensive high school in the East Side Union High School District of San Jose undergoing a transition to become a magnet for students learning English. As the school seeks to hold the same high expectations for college and career readiness for all students, modifications to their existing academy systems and the master schedule provide some avenues to ensure that students in the ELD department have access to opportunity and excellent support.
