Haas Center: Service and Purpose

The Haas Center, the Stanford hub for civic engagement, launched Cardinal Service in 2015 to elevate public service as a campus-wide focus and enhance support for students’ efforts to serve communities at multiple levels. Despite increased attention to service, the desired outcomes are ill-defined and not measured. We focus our Talk on Haas Center performance evaluation in relation to the Seven Principles of Ethical and Effective Service and its mission, “to inspire and prepare students to create a more just and sustainable world through service, scholarship, and community partnerships.”
