Thank you for your interest in Stanford’s Graduate School of Education (GSE). One of the country’s top education schools, the GSE is a world leader in ground-breaking, cross-disciplinary research and analysis that shape the educational practice and policy.

DATES AND DEADLINES: The graduate application for the 2020-2021 academic year is now closed and we are no longer accepting applications. The graduate application for the 2021-2022 academic year will be made available in early October 2020. The PhD deadline will be early December 2020 and the MA deadline (ICE/IEPA, LDT, POLS, STEP, coterm) will be early January 2021. Knight-Hennessy Scholars applicants, see more information below.

DECISION NOTIFICATION: Decision letters will go out electronically to all applicants. Doctoral candidates can expect to hear back by mid-February 2020, followed by STEP candidates in late February 2020. ICE/IEPA, LDT, and POLS MA candidates will hear back in early March 2020.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars develops a community of future global leaders to address complex challenges through collaboration and innovation. The program awards up to a certain number of high-achieving students with full-funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford, including full-time masters and PhD's at the Graduate School of Education. To be considered, you must apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars AND separately apply to your GSE graduate degree program of interest in fall 2020.
