Rates of homeschooling within the US are skyrocketing with over 1.7 million children in 2012 alone. In particular, a specific brand of homeschooling - wherein education is actually happening outside of the home - has proliferated and is now becoming the primary mode of independent learning. The Co-Learn Club app utilizes an iterative design process of needfinding, prototyping, and testing to successfully help parents learn to discover a social environment of similar co-learning families. It mildly improved parental stress levels related to the demands of scheduling and organizing logistics but did not significantly reduce costs of organizing the events.
