LDT Expo 2023 Presentations

LDT Expo 2023

On behalf of the faculty of the Learning Design & Technology Program at the Graduate School of Education at Stanford, THANK YOU for attending the presentations of the 2023 LDT master’s projects.

For the LDT Master's Project, students conceive and research a learning challenge, then build and test a solution of their own design. They spend hundreds of hours and complete projects with modest assistance from faculty and others. The project gives students a chance to demonstrate an understanding of learning theories as well as mastery of the skills involved in designing and testing a learning experience enhanced by technology.

At EXPO, we invite experts (you!) to listen to the students’ presentations and provide formative feedback on the projects. The students will spend about 20 minutes presenting their master’s project, then take questions from the invited reviewers and audience members. We invite individuals with a variety of perspectives, including faculty, designers, researchers, and those who are active professionally in fields directly related to the projects. We hope that you will add your unique voice to the conversation.

We invite you to attend any project presentations that you find interesting, whether or not you are on the review panel for that project. Below is the full schedule so that you can drop in if you’d like. We encourage you to look at the videos introducing the projects to prepare for the conversations.

Zoom are below (click on the date to see the presentations information).

Presentation Schedule

Each 40-minute session includes a short discussion and brief written reviews. Please provide your feedback online at https://tinyurl.com/ldtexpo2023.

You may find it helpful to know some criteria we look for in the master’s projects. While you are encouraged to provide any feedback that you consider significant and relevant, you may also refer to the following questions.

To what extent do the students…

  • Address a clear and compelling learning problem?
  • Articulate specific strengths of and challenges faced by the target learners?
  • Provide a theory of how to promote learning that drives key features of their designs?
  • Leverage existing scholarship and gather new data to guide development and show evidence of impact?
  • Make powerful use of technology?
  • Fit into a social and organizational setting?
  • Reflect lessons learned during the project?

Celebration of Learning: August 4, 2023

We hope you will preview the projects and join us for conversations with the students in the 2023 cohort of the Learning, Design & Technology program.
